Default Now That Fangio is a Free Agent

I’d love to see the Broncos take another run at him. I know he said no last year, and I get it, but maybe with another year gone, he might reconsider. I have no faith in Vance Joseph.

I’d still pitch it, but either way, I’d ditch Joseph.

Default Report: Eagles ‘expected’ to hire Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator

It may have taken a year longer than they’d hoped, but the Eagles have a chance to hire Vic Fangio as their defensive coordinator.

According to an ESPN report, Fangio is “expected” to join the Eagles’ staff after getting out of his contract with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. The Dolphins announced the veteran coach’s departure in a statement from Miami coach Mike McDaniel, calling the move “the best path forward for all parties involved.”

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman did not confirm the initial report that Fangio is their “top target” when asked during a news conference. Sirianni said the interview process was still ongoing.

“We’ve got a lot of good targets that we’re working through,” Sirianni said. “There’s a lot of guys that have done really well in their interview process. I look forward to continuing on that process. We’ll see what happens.”

Let’s just go get Rex Ryan and be done with it.

I’ve got a bad feeling that VJ isn’t going anywhere.

If it wasn’t for VJ the Broncos would have a Top3 pick.

They might have to draft a CB, depending on what the board looks like.

But then again, they could have their choice of Daniels, Nix, McCarthy and Penix and still take anything but a QB.

I have Zero faith in the upcoming draft. Daniels, Maye and Willaims are not obtainable unless we trade up into top 5. McCarthy is prob best bet if we stay at 12. He is a Levis, Cutler type prospect so I wouldn't be upset at 12 with him and hope the SP coaching would do the trick for his deficient traits making it worth the draft choice. Otherwise, we could probably trade back get some extra draft capital, grab Penix or Nix and then use the extra draft capital to get CB's, S, and TE's Paton loves so much.

I don't think VJ was the problem.

Yes he was. That defensive forcing all of those turnovers during the 5 game winning streak ruined our chance to draft a QB!

The Broncos’ turnover streak was unbelievable, but I feel pretty confident that the defense we saw at the beginning and again toward the end of the year are a much better representation of the unit overall.
