Declined, to who? Paton? Even the NFLPA took a peek at the situation and found that there was no real threat to bench rw during the initial discussions to revise the contract.

We’ll never know the real truth, but SP was never under any pressure to sit him down. However, it is clear that the relationship between SP and rw had degraded from whatever point it started at (which was tenuous at best it seems) and the lack of on field execution certainly had a key role in the move to play the QB2 for the last couple of regular season skirmishes.

BTW, this is raiders week, and it’s as meh as meh gets. I miss the good old days of a badass, hate the faiders, win this game if nothing else, take their money and women, fierce AF rivalry… sigh.

The NFLPA can’t control who teams start/bench anyway.

It’s even less of an issue with the way Stidham ran SP’s offense, regardless of what happens now SP can show Stidham do things that RW WASN’T. Watch the All-22, If Stidham could hit receivers in the hands we’re easily talking a 300 yard game with 70% completion percentage and a fraction of the wasted routes that we’re used to.

Stidham didn’t even have to play well to prove SP was right, that’s flaccid .
