Not to excuse Stidham, but back to back false starts inside the ten, and some untimely holding calls didn’t help.

I am floored by how many Bronco fans are pissed at Payton for benching Rus. Who watches this offense and sees Rus continually hold on to the ball too long, completely ignore wide open WRs continually and thinks this is in anyway a sustainable way of running an offense? I spend half of the time watching the Broncos offense yelling "throw the damn ball!" at my TV.
I'm not saying Payton is without blame but holy shit Rus has not been a good QB and benching him was absolutely the correct move for the long term health of the organization both from a financial standpoint and a football one. The proof is in the fact that his replacement played virtually an identical game to what Rus did against the same opponent for roughly $35M less per year.
What a gigantic mistake that contract was. I'm still fine with the trade because at the time everyone thought we were getting a FQB, but resigning him to a mega deal with time left on his old contract before he ever took a snap in a Broncos uniform was very stupid.
Let's Rid3!!!!
Agree with every word… although was a lot better on the stats page, Sidham passed the eyeball test in that he ran the offence, didn’t scramble every play, got rid of the ball on time, and threw to the middle of the field.
Makes me believe with a little better Qb than Sidham this system will work, and score enough points to put us on the right track and compliment the D, not rely on it.
Not so sure about that....it's coming out that that was a request of Wilson's prior to the trade... would make it make any sense of why the Broncos would be dumb enough to offer a contract with 2 years left on his previous contract. Why wouldn't the Broncos just wait, unless there was some agreement for the trade that a new contract be drawn up.
