Jaded is right though. The Broncos biggest curse is our knack for being bad but not bad enough to nab that FQB early in round 1. I have many years just wished we lose out once it was obvious we were not going to win a SB. **** yes I’d sacrifice an entire season to nab a guy that I could watch lead this team for the next 15. Just look at who we’ve won the SB with, just arguably the two greatest QB prospects in history. It’s a QB league, just look what Stroud has done for Houston. Give me that please.

Absolutely. You look at the teams who contend year after year, and almost all of them have a top ten draft pick at QB. It's just too damn hard to build a legit contender any other way. I can't for the life of me figure out why the Donkeys are so dead set against doing a proper rebuild. They're one hundred percent fine with organically going 5-12, but apparently tanking one year to go 3-14 is morally reprehensible, or something. I've honestly come to the conclusion that they're probably just too lazy to bother with it. Rebuilding would take work, it's easier to just suck every year with the roster we already have. The money keeps flowing in either way, why should they care? Will be interesting to see what their plan is at QB going forward, anyway.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

It’s hard to tank in the NFL. Most of the roster are playing for the next contract, their livelihoods. They’re not just going to throw a year down the toilet.

I never want us to tank, I just wish one of these years when we go 6-11 we could have a few bounces go the other way and we end up 3-14 instead and draft some stud QB. Or Hell, bite the bullet and make a big trade for a top draft pick and get that guy. So sick of middling about at the most important position in all of sports.

    You are both right.

But thats my problem right now with where we are and the run we are making. If we can slip into the playoffs than the run would be worth it. But if we come up short than Chazoe is right, we will be picking in the middle to near the end of the draft and you just cant find the future at QB there. And then if that happens what is the alternative for us outside of Russ? We keep him we pay him a shit ton more money for average QB play. If we cut him loose what else is there unless some other team throws out a former top 5 pick QB? Its a real conundrum for this team right now.

We realistically need 4-1 to close the season, and help to get in..
if we get in we automatically draft in the 20s I believe, and if we don’t make but do a run we will be mid to late teens..
either way we need to draft really well to improve talent and depth.

All I want is for us to be right in the mix up to the end of the season even if we miss out by a game. It’s nice to believe again and have the orange glow lantern lit, even if it’s a weak light at times. Go Broncos all the way!

We will go 9-8, Russ will be cut before his salary is guaranteed and we will have very little draft capital and FA dollars to rebuild what we need next year. Sean and Paton will run the Scrub carousel next year at QB, and then we will hopefully be able to get 1st rd Qb. in the 25 draft and have some more capital and dollars to build around said QB

A QB might drop to you this go around; lot of talent in the draft.

I’d be fine with Stidham starting next season.
