I fell asleep during the 3rd Quarter. 3 hours later I wake up and woooo!
I didn't watch the game, but game replay shows play calling, run defense, tackling issues. Jeudy dropping a TD doesn't help, keeping Mims not involved is stupid and Game script seem to hurt our run game. I really don't like a lot of the play calling and execution from our O right now but hey 4th qtr final drive they making it happen. We are a 9-8 team at best though if that doesn't get fixed ASAP. The team fights which is good to see we haven't seen battles like this since the 2015 and 2016 seasons so it's refreshing but will get us nowhere if we can't get some complimentary football going....
We need OL help still and lack anything decent at the ILB and DT positions. Need more depth at S and WR and then there is the elephant in the room that is Russ and that contract.....lord help us.......
Yea, i was actually quite positive after the game. Was impressed with the in game adjustments especially with protection on Russ. Vikings D stacks the line to try and confuse offenses which was talked about a lot with commentators and pundits. Whether or not we can get away with this kind of play against better teams (although we did beat both Buffalo and KC recently) down the stretch remains to be seen but at this stage i dont see why we cant at least go 9-7 and thats just on the low end in my opinion. It all hinges on continued improvement and consistency with playing and coaching. I was even very impressed with our ability not to shoot ourselves in the foot with constant penalties which seemed to plague the Vikings more than us last night. Overall, a great game and very smartly played by Payton and Joseph.
ROFL Gem!

As in, not “us”.
Yeah I’m not enjoying this whatsoever, this is shades of SB50 team but w/o Hall of Fame talent and PFM’s beautiful mind.
We need to see way more out of SP and RW, if this is Payton’s plan it sucks. This game was an nice improvement but this recipe is not SB stuff.

NFLol just suspended Kareem Jackson for another four games.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
I would have burned it all down after week three, but Payton is too old and stubborn to go through a rebuild, so here we are. I don't think anyone believes this is a Super Bowl recipe, but if we're not going to tank for a QB, I'm not mad about actually winning some games. The defense is legit playing at a championship level, and yeah-- Russ and Sean are absolutely not holding up their end. We got two more months to see if they can get it in gear. If not, things are gonna get very interesting in the off-season. If nothing else, it doesn't suck that we actually have our first round pick next year.
