Default Converting Cassette Tapes to MP3s/Digital

My roommate/landlord has some old cassette recordings of radio programs from before half the members of this board were born, so they’re of nostalgic value and irreplaceable. What is the best, and cheapest, way of converting them to MP3/digital before they wear out completely?

Isn’t this like taking a 1975 Datsun B210 and putting a clear coat finish on it?

Here’s a link to the process generically. The second link is to a product that does what you are looking for. It s not a recommendation though because I have never used it. The product I have used no longer exists for windows 10 or 11, as far as I know. So shop around and compare.

It is a lot of work, but in the end, you should be happy. I had a couple hundred albums from back in the day and decided to convert to digital. You have to tell the software when a song starts & ends and what the name of it is because analog doesn’t know. CD’s have that info, but records & cassettes do not.
    Good luck.

Make sure the software is compatible
