Virgil makes a great play, then goes down. Mims better be ready for the speed receiver role.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
Almost forgot the game was tonight. Just went back and read the stats… no tds but ball moved.. small improvements.

This team is going to be able to run the ball this year, and we have a coach that will use it when it works. Russell played a very smart game. Not a bad first half.
Denver D is for real… bending but making the big ply when needed.
Another 1 point loss. Ronnie Bell tore up the second and third string defense. Maybe it's only pre-season but I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of Peyton's wrath.
I'm all in on 38. That dude will be fun to watch.
We all wanted to see improvement, esp on the Oline, and we got it. Found it interesting the Payton pulled Russ after the 1st series, but left the rest of the starters in with Stidham. Apparently, he saw what he wanted out of Russ, but not sure he saw what he wanted out of Stidham. That dude makes me nervous.

Positives: Improved Oline play, like night & day from last week. Good coaching on both sides of the ball. Won the TO and sacks battle. Very good run offense, and much better run defense from last week. Russ looks way better when he scrambles. Williams held up, and made some plays. Perrin is a dependable back up, & McLaughlin is a keeper. Virgil didn’t tear his ACL. Maher made all his kicks. We actually have a return game on ST’s.
Negatives: Virgil tears his meniscus after the big play. The 2nd team didn’t get to the goal line fast enough to clock the ball after the big play. 2nd week in a row, we control most of the game with a lead, and then let a mediocre QB lead a winning drive in the final minutes of the game.
Any of the flaws we have look fixable by the raider game. Jmo
