    Default Smashing Pumpkins

Thought for sure there was a thread on these guys but alas there is one now. Despite Corgan's issues writing SD its still one of the best albums ever made right behind Gish.

I go back and forth all the time between Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie, and NIN's Downward Spiral, but I think Siamese Dream is easily the album I've listened to most front to back. Can't believe it's been 30 years since I first heard that and wore out the cassette on my walkman! Rocket, Cherub Rocket, Today, Disarm, etc. are all so sonically different but cohesive. Walls of guitars and that Bug Muff Fuzz tone are iconic and the soundtrack to my teen years. This song is also a Top 3 overall for me from ANY band. :

Nice to see the Smashing Pumpkins have a resurgence in recent years as well. Their new album has some really strong stuff on it and the recent shows have been really good that I've seen live.

I had a weird aversion to Siamese Dream when it dropped, it was a mix of snobby goth "I'm more OG alternative than you, and this is too popular" and also his voice was kind of faggy. I wanted my prissy goth/alt whiny music to be sung in a way that doesn't impugn my masculinity, make sense?

Even with that first impression, my best friend at the time had it on loop so I came to like it more than I expected.

    Great album.
