Thread: NFL clubs table TNF flex proposal; Mara, Mahomes among critics

PHOENIX -- While NFL teams opted not to vote on a rule that would allow games to be flexed into a Thursday night kickoff, clubs agreed Tuesday to modify the existing rule and allow teams to play a maximum of two short-week games.

That means that while some teams could play two Thursday night games, others would not have any. Back-to-back Thursday night games, such as a Thanksgiving game followed by a Thursday night game the next week, would only count as one short-week game, so some teams could wind up playing three Thursday night games.

"We're interested in making sure that we get exposure for all of our clubs," said Brian Rolapp, NFL executive vice president and chief media and business officer.

"We also believe that these national windows are for clubs that are playing well. We want to put the best teams in the best windows."

Thursday Night Football is an absolute shitshow money grab, regardless of which teams are in the game. All you’d be doing is making the importance of these games secondary to the money. Tune in to see this pivotal game turned to shit because we’re ******* greedy.

Imagine booking travel and buying a ticket to a Sunday game and this is the one game you have saved up to take your family to all season, and they move it to a Thursday. Would just be the ultimate slap in the face to paying fans.

I wish they move it to Friday Night. It would be super fun to have Friday Night Football!

Life isn’t fair, you’re being really ******* stupid right now. If Billionaires want to **** over a family for profit it’s only fair to him that he be allowed to do so without any criticism whatsoever.

I'm all for more football. It is after all entertainment. ...but what about the fans who booked travel, hotels, and tickets. This is going to create a huge mess iMO.

Just like the seventeenth game was inevitable, the owners will find a way to get it done.

An Anonymous owner says that within 3 to 5 years the NFL will start expanding into foreign markets; an entire new division. That means 4 new teams, all of them in foreign countries.

Players better hope they restart supersonic flight.
