Not super excited by the hire, but I can admit VJ has more knowledge of defense in his little finger than I do. I was kinda hoping if it wasn’t Rex, we might get a guy like Zimmer. We’ll see how it goes. At least it tempers the expectations for the Broncos and the defense a little bit. Had we landed Rex, the Superbowl banners and merchandise would’ve already gone into production.
We’ll know in 12 months how this all plays out. I’m gonna try not to get too worked up one way or the other this season. Last year broke me.

Yay....a defense that lives by the mantra....bend, don't break......ooooooof, another explosive play.
How exciting. This really drops my momentum of excitement. I'd much rather of had Patricia.
One step forward 8 steps back. What a dumb shit hire this was.
Let's Rid3!!!!
Like always, and yes I'm an insufferable homer, I hope they prove everyone wrong.
I think the best quote in that tweet stream is the below:
"I hope the team plays well on offense and defense. I have no reason to think that incompetent coaching will prevent that from happening on either side of the ball, based on the hires that have been made."
I FULLY agree. While VJ proved to be a bad HC in his first stint he isn't an incompetent coordinator. Is he great? He hasn't shown that yet if he is, he's been average to above average when he has decent personnel. All that said, he's been competent, and while I think he's a step down from Evero he could very easily prove me/us wrong.
VJ's first year as HC we had the #23 ranked scoring D and the #13 D his second year so there was improvement year over year defensively and they were pretty stout against the run.
After seeing them interview Patricia, my opinion completely changed. VJ is a saint by comparison, and VJ was even a much better NFL coach than that bum. If Patricia is part of VJ's staff, I hope he learns some humility because holy hell some of the stuff Darius Slay said about his locker room and some of the Mac Jones rumors last year were extremely troubling. VJ maybe didn't have the best first stint here, but his track record is respectable and he is respectable leading a defensive unit even if he may be a downgrade from Evero.
I think I blocked out everything from my brain of VJ's first HC tenure here.
Nice to meet you Vance. Let's Ride!
