It was GD impressive how prolific Hill was in the red zone - he basically single handedly ruined Kamara's fantasy value. Guy is a TD machine. I agree that his contract and role were a little absurd - but for all of our struggles in the red zone, I wouldn't scoff at any upgrades if they could figure it out.

I just worry because SP had some strange obsession with making this guy a QB. He'd be great on the cheap and in his limited red zone role, but I'm not sure if SP can help himself.

There's part of me that says if we have to choose between a Jacoby Brissett type of backup or acquiring Taysom - let's grab the guy who might have a role every week. Plus the SP obsession might make Russ a little nervous, which can't be a bad thing at this point.

Not to mention I called this on like Day 1 of the SP era, hence my adopted player, so it would be personally validating to my already burgeoning brand here.

I mean I would be all in just to see Jaded's head explode the first time he threw a pass here.

Looks like Lamar Jackson is about to find out that he's just not as good as he thinks he is.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Also, the Donkeys didn't tag Dre'mont Jones. I hope they try to re-sign him, but realistically he is probably gone, and that freakin' blows. He's the only down lineman on the roster who consistently generates any interior pass rush, and we don't have any legit young talent behind him. Hopefully Uwazurike can step up, but he showed zero last year, and the cupboard is completely bare behind him. The free agent class isn't stacked with talent, and what little there is will be very pricey. Hopefully one of the draftniks will tell me I'm wrong, but IMO it doesn't look like a strong class at the three-technique position at all-- and we all know how limited our draft ammo is. Basically, I don't see how they will replace him if he walks, and creating another massive hole in the roster is the last damn thing we needed. Coupled with the hiring of VJ, I really am not feeling any warm fuzzies about next season at the moment. More like bracing for more disappointment. Paton seriously needs to work some MFin' magic over the next couple months, but I'm not holding my breath.

Time to win with offense, edge rushers, blitzing, and gambling CB's.

    It has worked before!

    It can work again!

I tend to think Lamar is not that bad, but when a team is willing to let their QB test the market instead of locking him up to a big deal, that kinda tells you all you need to know about what they think of him. And given the reports already that most of the QB needy teams don't even plan to offer him, well, that kinda tells you how the league views him.

I'm feeling like Paton ****** the dog on this one.

I like how PFF talks like NFL teams give a **** about PFF grades.

On offense we need a tier 1 T, G, tier 1 or 2 C, RB depth and for defense we need a legit vet pass rusher(Houston) to pair with Gregory, a safety to replace Kjax, lots of DL help and a legit LB to pair with singelton.

Taysom aint leaving NO, his dead cap is 23 mil and about 7 mil after June 1st vs a 6-7 mil cap hit this year as a legit red zone threat. Even if Payton wanted him we have nothing to trade for him and the trade hurts NO to much to make.
