To answer my own suspicion, they are in LA to interview Morris also.

An elite HC is 4th on your wish list?

Do you understand what a “wish list” is?

We have zero draft capital and holes everywhere. I'm unsure how I feel about the fit. its that simple. He is 4th on my wish list. if he is first for you congrats, hope you get your wish. I wont be on that hype train till I see results, and then i may be late to the party but wont care either way.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

    FA

He’s not my 1st, but only because I have questions about his staff. I’m just baffled by Broncos fans lack of respect for Payton, it’s embarrassing. Even with the draft compensation it’d take to get him he’s still the best candidate that’s been available in decades.

    “The fit”? Seriously?

I wouldnt mind Payton, i like him. But im not crazy about giving up #1 draft picks for him. If we had not made such a huge trade for Russ i would probably be more apt to do something like that but not really at this stage.

Getting Payton would be like KC getting Andy Reid.

I really don't see the issue if you are getting a sure fire coach for the next decade and giving up a really, really late 1st rounder to make that happen. IMO this was already part of the thinking that led to the Chubb trade and was factored in. it honestly makes me hate that trade less.

I think its an issue because i dont see Wilson being here for a decade. Without 2 straight years of 1st round draft choices really hurts your chances at getting talent on the team. Now, if Payton plans to do his building through FA that may be one thing but even then the money they would be spend would have to be limited because of Russell's contract.

Eh. The 49ers didn't have a 1st rounder last year or one this year, and they're in the playoffs. Possible super bowl contender.

Eh, i think they have much better depth than Denver because even with all their injuries they can still play at a high level. Denver cant, sometimes even with their starters.

They pulled RB's off the scrap heap and got production and the best LB'er they have found in quite some time, Singleton as well. This is still a really young team, and if you get Russ back to being productive, he should be around for quite a while too. One late first round pick isn't changing any teams fortunes. Everybody on these forums so over values draft picks to the detriment of everything else. I'd have rather had Harbaugh and the pick, but he wants to hang out with College kids and wrack up NCAA violations, so whatever.

And Payton is a better HC/Play-caller.

Amazing how tight lipped the WPG is for the interviews. They interviewed Payton this morning, and may be ready to interview Morris, and not one thing has been leaked. Nothing that I can find. This is also true for all candidates interviewed last week, as well. Hell, we didn't even know two of them were scheduled until after the interview.
