Media noise is one thing, but on the actual field and in the locker room I don't recall reading or seeing anything negative. Melvin Gordon as a pass blocker was a solid player for this franchise.
Unfortunately, the position of running back requires being good in pass protection, being able to run, being able to cut, being able to outrun defenders, being able to catch, and most importantly above everything else... being able to hold onto the football.

I would take Lindsay back, but in a passing league he just won't see the field every down because QB safety is way too important to put someone out there that is a liability in protection. Until Lindsay improves that part of his game, which actually could still happen, he won't be a starter again in this league.

Lindsay was a petulant tawt, sulking over respect and contract. He was never, EVER a 2-contract-RB … those are rare. He went undrafted for a reason, reasons he couldn’t accept and he became toxic. Especially after they signed a better/more complete RB.

He’s gone.

Also, the Rams just cut a much better option and, yet, there’s been zero mention of that player. And why? Because of Phillip ******* Lindsay. God, gimme strength!

No RB should ever get a second contact.

Making a Pro Bowl and wanting a few extra bucks makes a guy toxic? NFL stands for Not For Long, so don't fault the guy for trying to make the most of his success. I don't recall him holding out or quitting on the team over this.. You are being silly.

Btw, Lindsay wanted a contract he didn’t deserve in today’s NFL, he got butthurt and made sure everyone knew.

That’s fine, I don’t care, but that’s what happened. As a fan I’m glad it worked out the way it has, and to be honest I struggle to understand other fans that got butthurt too, much less the ones that got just as butthurt as Lindsay did. He’s JAG with a Legendary hair-do, which btw, is gone (even less reason to bring him back).

It's obvious now that Paton made the right call on Lindsay, but the man played with as much heart as anyone who has walked through the door the last 7 years on this team. Implying the guy has "attitude" or "arrogance" lumps him in the same class as locker room cancers, which clearly is not the case with Lindsay.

I’m not implying, I’m literally am saying he turned into a cancer, teammates say that they stay out of other players contract drama but they don’t … he was outspoken about it in media so it’s safe (and logical) to assume he was outspoken about it with teammates.

An undrafted RB putting himself before the good of the team, which, granted, is common, would normally be an issue with fans. I say this as a fan that simply doesn’t care about lockerroom cancers, I have no dog in this hunt, so in my mind it’s not so much “criticism” of Lindsay as it is just saying it’s time to move on.

He ain’t “that guy”.

The Broncos could sign him tomorrow and it literally doesn’t move the needle one way or the other … he’s Just A Guy.

Jaded is a treasure. That "I don't care about locker room cancers," as a concept in and of itself is fascinating. I do recall Lindsay being vocal about his role and his contract situation. I dunno if he went into cancer mode. Regardless, he's on his fourth team in four years and he's not great anymore. Gordon is clueless and lives in lala land.
