    I'm finally getting around to listening to Journey's 1st album. It's been on loop for a couple of hours, and it's only 36 minutes. So I guess it's ok.

    Here's a question.

    What if all of us never heard of Journey's 1st album. Never gave it a deep dive.

    Then we listen to it. We all admit it is on the level of the finest albums we've ever heard, but we never knew about it.

    How much does that silent revelation move the needle?

    Is this a sheer branding contest as a function of the current year?

    It moves the needle in terms of quality. Potentially a lot, too.

    Yeah, it should I think. I'm not saying Journey's 1st album is all that.

    But it's really damned good.

    Let me put it this way. If you were told to go listen to, e.g., a fictional Tears For Fears forgotten first jam band type album. Then you listen. And you are super impressed.

    Tears for Fears goes up a notch, right? It has to.

    Early Journey is (maybe?) best Journey.

    It's a band playing like a band is supposed to play.
