Default How do I get my "Blue Yeti" microphone to work?

It's supposed to be plug and play, which was clearly demonstrated by this the following Youtuber:

However, I can't get any sound when trying to record onto my laptops camera app. Do I need 1 of those studio apps to make it work? If so, which 1 would you recommend?

You shouldnt, have you check your sound settings and setup? What software are you using to record and for what purpose? Generally even for most computers you can get the mic to work with the regular settings. I just dont know what you are using to record with.

Yes, I've check my sound settings. As far as "software," I'm just using the video record setting on my laptops camera because I'm just wanting to see if I can make it work. What software should I be using?

So the camera is part of the laptop? Can you take a screen shot of the settings for that camera?

Yea, still not coming up large.

Never the less, what you might do Fan is try using a free program like ZOOM. Test out your mic and camera via that and see if you can get it to work. If you are planning on doing YT stuff or videos that you will be uploading, etc. you might look into Streamyard (which is what i use) and pay like 20 bucks a month for 50hours of video. I think YT offers some sort of packages also but try ZOOM first to see if you can get everything to work for you.

I don't know how to make it any larger, but I will download Streamyard and give it a try.

Thanks North for streaming with me so I could get everything figured out. Now I’m on to my next step in my long-term plan for an Autistic takeover of the world. Because of your help, you’ll be given a higher position in our new Autistic World Order. Other members of this site, not so much
