The game sped up on him. It gets even faster in the NFL. His confidence is going to take a huge hit, maybe he recovers, maybe not.

Huskies offensive line came into the NCG as one of the best. As I had mentioned before, they hadn’t played a defense like Michigan’s. They were man handled. You could tell Penix was gun shy about getting hit. I’m sure the memories of his old injuries were floating around in his head. His receivers didn’t help him either. Not every throw is going to be perfect so it’s up to the receiver to adjust. What’s the old saying “if the ball hits your hands, you better catch it”. I believe that QB run by McCarthy on third & forever took any motivation from the Huskies. And now, their HC ups and leaves for Bama. But, kudos to Michigan. Their defense was for real.

Spiker… I will give a shout out to the refs. There were blatant fouls on both teams all game, but the refs let them play. If not, it would have been a flag fest.

Hard to say. I think negotiations will go right up until the league year starts, and it is still possible that Russ to renegotiate his injury guarantee in exchange for more money. Russ was bad, but there are other issues with the offense (such as underachieving WRs). It's possible they run it back with Russ one more year if a contract renegotiation can be reached. I don't think ownership or the coaching staff wants to have a "rebuilding year" so a compromise of running it back may be reached.

QB will almost certainly be targeted either way early in the draft, either at pick 12 or trading back.

Why in the world would they bring Russ back, even on a re-negotiated deal? So they can still drastically overpay him to be a bridge quarterback leading the team to 20 points a game once again? It doesn't make any sense. It's time to just suck it up and rip the damn Band-Aid off already. They may not want to have a rebuilding season, but they NEED to have one if they ever want to compete for something better than a nine-win-season.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

They are already paying Russ. Russ brings eyes to the team. Russ is better than Stidham. It makes sense.

The cost of cutting Russ is high. The cost of keeping Russ is high. I think they are seriously considering keeping him.

RW isn’t better at running SP’s offense than Stidham is, this is why the WR’s underachieve.

I sincerely hope the Broncos move on, it’s beyond time to build a team the right way.

It is, but they're not going to do that even if they do move on from Wilson. Sean Payton is too old and stubborn to do it that way. He's clearly bound and determined to go down with the ship, pursuing that dream of a 9 and 8 season. My only hope is that they fire him and George Payton after this year, and burn it completely down and start over in 2025. But to do that, they have to get Wilson's stupid contract off the books this year. Not holding my breath either way. I have zero confidence in this ownership group.

Don't the broncos have to make a decision on him in the upcoming month?
