It’s almost as if the defense has the advantage early in the year based on all the complexity of modern offenses taking time to get down, unless of course your system is the same one you’ve played in for 4-5 years. Looks familiar. Lots of teams start off slowly on offense. All I know is, for all the shit being thrown at the Broncos, and in particular Wilson and Hackett, they’re 2-1 just like Reid and Mahomes and McDermott and Allen. Oh, and they’re one game up on everyone’s favorite preseason pick the Sparklers. IIRC, we started off 1-2 with PFM his first year and it took until that ridiculous 4th quarter comeback on the Chuggers to really get the offense clicking. I’m fine with being a little patient. I have faith that Russ and Hackett will get it sorted. In the meantime, props to Evero and the defense for bringing they’re A-game while the offense struggles. Can you imagine what this team will be if we can get to 21-24 PPG on offense?

I think this was a good measuring stick for the TEAM itself, not just the offense. We went against the (statistically) #1 D in the NFL so I think the struggles are expected and we're still seeing a LOT of growing pains. I would make the case that even some of those missed throws were because the DL was getting after Russ quite a bit, and the team knowing how to frustrate what Russ likes to do. Their D gameplan was geared to how they would've played Russ no matter what, and it did very well.

I truly think we will start seeing the Offense getting it together this coming week against the 24th ranked Raiders D. Of course the Raiders think they'll get it going against us so we shall see.

Another thought that gives me hope: We have a lot of potential on this offense for growth and improvement. This performance would've been our ceiling the last 6 or 7 years, this is nowhere near our ceiling now and I do truly believe the needle is pointing up.
Thank you, this sums up my feelings. In the past, it would be a feeling that this as good as it gets with the offense and hopefully we can eek one out. But even with last night's game and all season I've been optimistic that we'd pull it out. I was convinced we'd beat the Seahags until Hackett happened. I think what we're seeing is this team's floor and we don't know yet what their ceiling is. I for one am excited to see just how good this team can become.

I've noticed this as well. He used to get off the line with serious pop...he doesn't seem like the hair on fire dude we have seen. I hope he's not going all pouty ho on us.

How can one tell the difference if it's press coverage.

Default Punter Corliss Waitman named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Following an impressive performance that was critical in the Broncos' 11-10 win over the 49ers, punter Corliss Waitman has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday.

In Denver's Week 3 win, Waitman punted 10 times, averaged 47.6 gross yards per punt and had six punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Waitman was the first punter in more than three years to have at least six punts downed inside the 20-yard line without a touchback.

Waitman's six punts downed inside the 20 were also a franchise single-game record.

Depends on whether or not he is facing press coverage.

Awesome 4th quarter. I kept telling my son that Broncos are gonna win this game. It wasn’t a pretty game but the finish & W is what matters. Reminds me of the Elway days of nail biting comebacks.
