Well, he does have a knack for painting a bull's eye on his chest and daring everyone to hit him.

But this leads me to why I thought he was a stiff; he missed as many hits as he made. It’s . . . C’mon, Dude, sometimes ya just get the player on the ground.

It was worth it back then because offenses weren't as explosive. The gamble that is.

That’s exactly the opposite of how I remember watching Sanders.

Dennis Smith missed his share of tackles too, drove me nuts.

Dude would dance even if a hole was open. It was how he was, fam. I grew up thinking he was the greatest footballer ever, position aside. I went back and watched a lot of his tape, the docs on him, etc. It's just pretty damning, imo. With his style, if he was going to win football games in the playoffs for you, a lot of other guys could...even if he was one of the greatest freak athletes ever. Sometimes specialness is almost a curse.

In that era of football there was value in making WRs scared to death to come over the middle. Just that fear made an impact you don't see on that stat sheet.

Marshawn Lynch is already the most criminally underrated RB of this era. Give me that guy on any team, any day of the week.
