The last time I thought I won based on my attempt to calculate the tie breaker on my own, instead of waiting for the algorithm to do it for us, I didn’t. I guess just winning outright is better.

In all seriousness, I’ve had a question pertaining to how the tie breaker actually works so I can accurately calculate who the tiebreak favors without having to wait for the official results. I’ve waited until now because I didn’t want to come across as a sore loser raining on Carol’s victory parade that she rightly earned. I’ve looked for the link that explains the procedure, but I can’t find it. So, can someone find it for me?

I am guessing that the 1st tiebreaker decides who wins most of the time if more than one person had the same number of games right.. If two players had the same amount of games correct, and also had identical answers for tiebreaker #1, then it would go to tiebreaker #2.

I was previously told that the predicted score of the Monday night home team is compared to the actual result 1st. In that game, I predicted that the Ravens would score 27 points, you predicted 21. So, if they scored more then 24, then I’d win. If they scored less, then you’d win. If 24 was scored, then we would’ve tied because we’d both have been off by 3 points. Because I scored a bullseye by guessing 27, I should’ve won.

Had we tied, then we would’ve gone to comparing our predicted scores of the Monday night road team. We both predicted the Saints would score 17, so we would’ve tie.

Moving on to the Sunday night game, you were closer to me in predicting the score of both teams and therefore would’ve won.

However, if we were to compare who was closer in more of those 4 scores, then you’d beat me 2 games to 1 game and 1 tie.

If we’d compare the total point differential between our predictions and the actual scores, then I would’ve won by being off by only 21 combine point, while you were off by 22.

So, with all of these different ways that I’ve come up with to compare our predicted scores to determine a winner, is the actual formula used by the algorithm one that I’ve theorize or something completely different?

Thanks, but the geniuses that wrote this overlooked the need to clarify something. Is the “first tiebreaker game” the Sunday night game because it’s the first one played, or the Monday night game because it’s the first one listed in the tiebreak section?

Thank you! Everyone is doing well this season, as strange as it has been.

I am fully expecting to make a late season collapse!
