Default Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher rips Alabama coach Nick Saban's NIL accusations: 'Some people think they're God'

Jimbo Fisher delivered a fiery rebuttal to Alabama coach Nick Saban's comments from Wednesday night that Texas A&M "bought every player" in its vaunted 2022 recruiting class, calling Saban's comments "despicable" numerous times in a quickly assembled nine-and-a-half-minute news conference.

Fisher, who was visibly angry, said there was no truth to Saban's accusations.

"We never bought anybody," the Texas A&M coach said. "No rules are broken. Nothing was done wrong. It's a shame that you've got to sit here and defend 17-year-old kids and families and Texas A&M Because we do things right. We're always going to do things right. We're always going to be here. We're doing a heck of a job."

Fisher seethed, obviously taking Saban's comments personally. And while he didn't ever name Saban, Fisher's response was similarly personal.

Just read a little about this and apparently Saban made some claims against Jackson State where Prime is coaching. Not sure if Saban has any proof of any of his accusations but man what is he thinking if he doesnt? If he is lying about it than the NCAA needs to come down on him hard.

The NIL stuff changed the landscape; NS said that in front of his boosters who just got outspent by Texas donors. Saban doesn't have room to talk given how he manipulated the rules when he first got to 'Bama via grey-shirting players/over-recruiting. There are reportedly a lot of folks telling Jimbo to calm down about pushing back because Saban might have an actual point. These are just two old hyper-competitive godly coaches fighting over players in a new landscape and it's fascinating to see how it'll play out.
