There are rookie options.
There are retread veteran options.
There are the QBs currently on our roster.
And then there is Aaron Rodgers.
Who do you think it will be?

Abe, you’re a trouble maker, aren’t you pal?![]()
Well. If Nathaniel Hackett is all he’s cut out to be, he can work his magic with Lock and start his legacy going forward. That’s a very doable challenge for him...

I can't work with the no takebacks clause.

If were smart we draft a QB to develop, roll with Lock and bring in Mariota, or Trubisky on a 1 year deal as a backup(no stupid competition regardless of who starts). So if it doesn't work out we cut bait keep tons of cap space and our rook is ready to roll next year the right way. We also have lot of draft capital and cap room to contend with the right way.
The elite way cost us our future for a hope at the SB next year, then back to the drawing board in cap hell and no draft capital. The retread way is 2016-2021 all over again. The rook way is the way especially with a young innovative hot shot coach.
Trubisky or Mariota are both guys I think could be this year's Tannehill. Both have all the attributes and have been contributors for playoff teams. Of the two, I feel Trubisky has higher upside. If the team goes into camp Trubisky vs. Lock, I don't necessarily see the team as doomed.
If we draft someone...I'm on board with him starting right away. Why waste a year to see if a kid is any good? Find out now and go from there.
I chose retreat, which is obviously not what I want. Some might depend on how quickly they get ownership sorted out. Will they go after a big FA prior to getting the new owner? How many of the big FAs will be available (or available for trade)?
I'm not an NCAA follower, but have read that this isn't the strongest QB class, so will we be able to get a rookie with a high likelihood of being "the guy" but if they think they got him, then I agree with Chaz, if he's mentally tough enough to handle being thrown in, then put him in day one.
Rodgers. I like winning the afcw and superbowls. There is no one better for that job than he. He will be our qb
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
I think if Green Bay makes Rodgers available, Paton will move heaven & earth to get him... But there is a decent likelihood that Green Bay uses their leverage and retains him for one more year. After that, things get a lot more complicated.
I think Jimmy G is a pretty real possibility, but I only like that plan if we pair him with a rookie - otherwise he just fits the bill as another retread with a limited ceiling.
I think it's silly that there is basically a universal consensus that there are no starting NFL QBs in this draft when every single year 50% of the QB evaluations are wrong. Not saying we'll find the next Burrow or Mahomes, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusions that this draft class is useless. The dumbest thing this team could do is continue to be risk-averse in acquiring QBs. We should be throwing everything against the wall until something sticks... Pull a Mike Shanahan and use your first two picks on QB - I don't care, nothing matters until QB is solved.
Staying positive, it will be Pickett.
I don't have any names, but it makes me happy that Hackett has had Rodgers exposure. He'll be able to spot his guy.
