Hey now, backup QB is the best position on an NFL team. Chase Daniel has made over $40 million dollars doing nothing but holding a clipboard and running the scout team. Stay humble, keep your mouth shut, support the starter, win a game every now and then when called on and you can retire after a long career a rich man with a body that still functions like it’s supposed to.

I’m just glad we can all laugh and ridicule the backup now, instead of pretending he’s useful in any meaningful way.

    He looks like their accountant.

    Good article.
"It was amazing to see them talking, and the questions they were asking and the back and forth. The amount of learning that went on was absolutely incredible. I have been doing this for five years. It was really cool to watch on the fourth day to see them spit back all the stuff Russell was teaching them. They knew the stuff and they were learning it, and you just think of how much they will know before they even get into the building in Denver and talk to the coaching staff," said Heaps, who also is a host for Seattle Sports radio (@SEASports710) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. during the week.

I'm very excited to see what he can do if they let him (and the rest of the offence) play. I just hope to hell that he doesn't get hamstrung by a shitty O-Coordinator.

The guy calling plays will be Hackett so we SHOULD be good there, even though he didn't call the plays in GB he was heavily involved in designing the offense and he has called plays before with success in both Buffalo and Jacksonville

Hackett also seems to be pretty open to ideas from his QB. You don’t start a press conference with, “Russell Wilson, holy shhh” without taking input and working with him on what he wants to do. If we were talking Lock or a rookie, then it’s really more about the HC/OC. You’ve got a QB motivated enough to have his own practice field and lead workouts and film study at his home, yeah it gonna be more of a partnership I think. Coaches dream of having leadership like that in the locker room.

Not to mention he’s already got teammates out there learning terminology, etc. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t do that without team buy-in as they’d have to all learn new terminology, etc as soon as Hackett gets with everyone. I think Russ gets to have Manning level say in what happens on field for the offense

When Hackett had QB’s like EJ Manuel & Blake Bortles he designed the offense around its strengths; the running game. In fact, they led the league in rushing with Manuel in Buffalo, and Bortles in Jax. When you have Rodgers or Wilson as QB’s, you design the offense around them; do what they are good at and like to do. I don’t remember Rodgers complaining about a stagnate offense, so if Hackett can keep Rodgers happy, I’m sure he can keep Wilson happy.

Default Russell Wilson to throw out the first pitch at Rockies opening day

At Russell Wilson’s introductory press conference, the Broncos quarterback made several references to his connection with the Rockies. A former draft pick of the ball club, his time in purple pinstripes made a positive impact, at least partially paving the way for the QB to come to Denver.

On Friday afternoon, another chapter is the connection between Wilson and the Rockies will be written. He’ll be a part of the team’s festivities on opening day.
