Default Should Broncos Trade Down With Steelers For #1s in '22 and '23?

Josh Edwards' First-Round mock for CBS Sports has the Broncos trading with the Steelers. The headline for most is that Pittsburgh needs a QB now that Big Ben is retiring and they will use Denver's #9 overall pick to get Ole Miss QB Matt Corral (Local favorite Kenny Pickett was taken by Carolina). With the #20 pick, the Broncos take LB Nakobe Dean from Georgia and will also get Pittsburgh's #1 choice in 2023.

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/...sh-on-defense/

Here's what Edwards says about this:

After moving back and acquiring a future first-round pick, Denver adds Dean to its defense. I could see the Broncos exploring Jimmy Garoppolo, Carson Wentz or another quarterback in that stratosphere. They have a roster ready to compete.
This presumes, of course, that attempts to trade for Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson have failed.

An extra #1 next year will allow Denver to trade up into the Top 10 for a QB in a likely better quarterback class than this year's.

As for Dean, if you're unimpressed, the remaining selections in this mock are WRs Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams and Chris Olave, OLs Tyler Linderbaum, Trevor Penning and Bernhard Raimann, DLs Jermaine Johnson, Logan Hall, Boye Mafe and Travon Walker or DBs Daxton Hill and Trent McDuffie. Feel free to substitute if you think Dean is the wrong choice.

    Thoughts?
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

If teams are offering what the Bears gave up for Fields they can have Pickett at 9, I’ll take my chances with two 1st round picks in ‘23.

No. Just take the QB and don't get too cute. Josh Allen is too tier and Fields looks promising right now. No more trading back when a worthy QB is on the board.

Problem is... there are no worthy QB’s at #9 this year and certainly no Josh Allen’s.

If by “Boss” you mean Derek Carr.

I've watched highlights but I haven't watched him play enough to say that you're wrong in liking him. I think the quarterback analogies are very lofty.

In North’s defense here’s an analysis comparing Pickett to Joe Burrow.

I never watched Goff in college so i cant speak on whether he was good/bad. Pickett could easily be shit (just like any QB in any given year of the draft). But, i have watched Pickett play a lot because of the conference he played in. I just have a strong feeling he is going to be really really good. But im just one guy on a board of other guys/gals who say so and so players are great or horrible. Jaded thinks Winston is a great QB, that dude is the epitome of average to poor but that is what im talking about. You, me, Jaded, and so on will say so an so is going to be a great QB or shitty QB but in the end no one really knows. Its just a matter of perception and what we have observed.

For instance, i know people love Stroud out of OSU but when has OSU ever really made a great NFL QB? Ive actually looked at the list and there isnt one yet now all of a sudden people are saying that Fields and Stroud are going to be those guys? Yea, i personally dont buy it but it doesnt mean i will be right. Small hands? Sure, that could be a problem but then Drew Brees was too small and looked how that worked out. If there is a chance that Fields and Stroud become great NFL QB's than there is a chance that Pickett can too. Anything can happen but you cant be afraid to take a chance on a guy because he has small hands. Look at his body of work and make your assessments there.
