Depends on the season. His last year he had little weapons, the worst line in football (from next-gen graders, iirc) a bad running game and still made plays with his legs and protected the ball. He was the high-end version of what Denver was looking to get out of Seimienanen and Keenum. Granted he didn't want to take a paycut (don't blame him) and that's why he wasn't a Bronco. But he was not a bad player.

It’s even catching up with Mahomie. Kap was a really good college QB.

Not as bad as portrayed at the end for sure, but I think his game was figured out, the team around him depleted, and that led to the sharp decline in productivity. He didn’t have a deep bag of tricks to reach into to stay ahead of the curve.

Kap was a one trick pony.

Yup… for some perspective for those that think his game had not declined the closest QB to Kaepernick’s numbers in his final season was Brock Osweiler, who is now out of the NFL too. Kaepernick simply didn’t play well enough to warrant a starting job after 2017.

He was never an elite QB, but Dilfer literally was cut by the tram he won a SB for; that was the first time it happened to a starting QB.

Kaep was good enough to keep starting in the league; politics and I mean this in the broadest and keastniffensive way to all involved stopped that.

This flatly false if you look at his last season as a starter and compare it to other game managers.

Dilfer was a Top 5 draft pick, had all the talent you could ask for.

Ok, if you’re keeping score Mahomie is no longer a “damn good QB”.
