Imagine being a cash poor NFL team. That's almost impossible.
Only issue there is you already have Gruden fighting his firing, do they want to deal with that headache/hassle with two different coaches? Not to mention the fact that if they fired two straight coaches for potentially dubious reasons (maybe McD is cheating, but if he is he's doing a piss poor job) what quality candidate will want to go there in the future?
Gotcha. For some reason I thought he was fighting it. Maybe it's the NFL he was considering suing for leaking all that stuff in the first place?
In any case, I don't think the Raiders really want to deal with two different scandalous coach firings/resignations in two years. For better or worse (for us it's certainly better!) it looks like he's there through at least the end of next year.
I don't disagree, but another WR almost certainly isn't in the budget. O-line help is the first, second, and third priority.
Also, I love knowing that McDaniels has that uneasy feeling in his stomach now that BOB just co-opted his soft landing back in New England. When he has to slink back there next year, it may have to be as QB coach, not OC.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
