I think someone knew he was going to do it and when to schefter to feel like a big shot. Shannon Sharpe opined that and it made sense to me because he, like many former players believed Brady was going to wait to announce his retirement post SB out of respect for the teams.

I don't like TB12 and I think he's a douchebag, but I do give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I could be wrong though, and I embrace that possibility.
