Default Mile High Morning: Broncos ranked as a top head-coaching vacancy

    The Lead

With the 2021 regular season now in the rearview mirror, a handful of teams are beginning the search for a new head coach to lead their organizations in 2022 and beyond.

After several head coaching spots opened up early this week following the Week 18 slate of games, NFL.com's Judy Battista evaluated each organization and ranked which teams boast the most attractive job opening for potential coaches. The Denver Post's Ryan O'Halloran also spoke to a league source who ranked the open jobs. Both Battista and O'Halloran also broke down the good and bad of each potential head coaching job.

Battista ranks the Broncos as the No. 2 most-enticing head coaching spot, citing young talent on both sides of the ball as a big draw for head coach candidates.

"The Broncos job has plenty of upside," Battista wrote. "There is a core group of young players, led by Patrick Surtain II and Javonte Williams, to build around. Denver has a stout defense and talented players at the skill positions."

We could be amongst the most attractive, but we’re not the only ones looking for a head coach, and while the Broncos want to be thorough with their search, time is of the essence. We need to move fast and make an offer!

At this point the field of choices that fits Paton priorities is very narrow. Hackett, Quinn got to be on top of the list, I would also throw Brian Flores because of his experience and for the tremendous job he did in Miami. Quinn has scheduled interviews with four of the 6 teams with vacancy, so he has choices...

Default Here's Why Broncos are an Attractive Job for HC Candidates

As Vic Fangio cleaned out his office, the Denver Broncos quickly shifted focus towards his potential replacement. While there are some great names out there to be of interest for the Broncos, the question is, is this team enticing enough for them?

It's a valid question after a fifth-straight losing season and ownership is still up in the air (though that issue could be resolved soon). Not having a stable owner can be a detriment.

Coaching candidates will have to risk a new owner coming in and making sweeping staff changes, and not even the general manager is immune to the whims of a billionaire.

    Eric Bienemy
Also, those of us living in Colorado are familiar with the rap sheet of Eric Bienemy... police rap sheet I’m talking about personal conduct, DUI, the alcohol and sex recruiting scandal at CU in Boulder, grabbing a parking attendance by the neck and threatened with some visual language of gang rape, an altercation with a firefighter, a bar fight in Boulder, some other issues in Miami as well...

Broncos should absolutely be the top job to have. Outside of to many fair weather fans the broncos have everything you could ask for coming into the HC job and plenty of resources to get other things we need and most importantly a great GM

True, but not being a piece of shit as a human being is a good start. People screw up all the time. Everyone makes dumb decisions. Repeated dumb decisions are the problem. Seems as if he made plenty of dumb decisions in rapid succession.

He’s been in contact with the law everywhere he’s gone, even in KC he’s had runs with the law. Not good!

So what? You’ve never been “in contact with the law”?
