Same thing that could go wrong with any hire?

We need the best person for the job, I don’t care what their background is. I PREFER it be a younger offensive mind but, frankly, I want the right guy and the right staff. I’m not going to put a stake in the ground beyond that. Bring the right guy George or you can go away as well. It’s not my job on the line.

i would tell you to keep your pants on, but i know that's a waste of time. . . he is pretty cool, though. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

My brain says Hackett, my gut says Quinn, my heart says I don’t care as long as they return us to where the team SHOULD be.

I said on another thread that Quinn could be the guy this franchise needs right now if we go by Paton’s criteria of who he wants. If he can get a dynamic offensive coordinator then we would have the best of both worlds...

At this point the candidates were many and varied and I liked that, so I'm fine with the process. He wants leadership and he wants a coach with a offensive legit game plan. Maybe that's a hotshot OC under Quinn as well we will see. None of this really matters though if we don't have a staff capable of developing a rookie QB, getting the best out of lock or running a competent offense with some scrub for the next year.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

Why are Pederson and Bowles not getting interviewed?

My hunch on Pederson is that the ugly way his tenure ended in Philadelphia muddied his reputation a little bit. Fallout with owner/GM/QB. Similar to what’s making Flores less desirable than he probably would be otherwise. And I’m sure there’s a lot known by insiders that we don’t know about. Bowles I’m not as sure about. He’s an older guy and had an unsuccessful HC stint already, perhaps just not what they’re looking for.
