There is no need to fire paton. That is not going to happen. Not even sure why people are saying something like this. I have seen it a lot. Its really really stupid.

The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
It’s the dumbest shit I’ve heard amongst some broncos fans and broncos fans say plenty dumb shit ( myself included every once in awhile) but This whole fire Paton and anti Paton rhetoric has been going on since Paton passed on jones and fields as if they are the end all be all prospects you couldn’t pass! One guy landed in the perfect system and situation and is playing solid leaning heavy on the run throwing usually one touchdown during a game, the other guy has been benched already.

If all three players-Jones, Fields, and Surtain become pro-bowlers, the QB's are infinitely more valuable to their franchises and carry a much larger factor of their teams success.
It is about how you build a team. That is the criticism.
But we got Teddy, so we good.
Your correct we keep f'in up the build a team properly in favor of a constant win now mode mirage with QB's that cant actually win now. They were all shitty back up quality at best. Elway loved that shit, and Paton seemed to think he could do it with Teddy. Its been shit for years its still shit and I want a damn QB every draft until we f 'in find a good one. Its the most expensive and hardest position to fill you draft and develop until you find the one period. Denver hasn't learned this, and we keep hiring coaches that don't realize this either. Kubiak and Elway got lucky with Peyton period that's all it was luck. The shit has got to stop. We need to draft a rd 1 Qb and develop him period!
Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan
Draft
RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St
FA
1. With what money
Its not that they passed on fields and jones its that he passed on them then bought off on starting teddy. He is accountable for that just like Vic. Until Paton shows better decision making at the QB position he will be suspect and the calls for his firing will be there. Not to hard to see why.

Broncos will wear alternate blue uniforms vs. Chiefs in season finale
https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/202...nate-uniforms/The Denver Broncos (7-9) will wear alternate blue uniforms when they host the Kansas City Chiefs (11-5) in their season finale at Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday (the game will be nationally televised on ESPN).
This, exactly this. Elway even knew this early on, that's why they drafted Brock in the 2nd even though they had just signed Manning. Granted that should have been Russell Wilson, but using capital on the position was a smart GM move. Taking Paxton, even though he was a bum, was also a smart GM move. Being scared to invest in the position ever since is why he is no longer the GM.
Let's Go Broncos!!! Despite all the issues and COVID protocols, BEAT THE CHIEFS!!!!! As Admiral Farragut famously said, "Damn the Torpedoes. Full Speed ahead!"
Too bad she doesn't cheer for the Patriots dressed like this
Paton throwing either Jones or Fields into this shitshow would have been a horrible waste. Picking PS2 was a way better choice given that he is a great fit for the better-than-average Denver D.
It’s not like Paton was in a position to just wholesale revamp the coaching situation last year. He was stuck with that at least for this first year and trying to force a high round QB into the mix would have been an absolute disaster. Instead Paton settled for a mild dumpster fire.
The pick would not have been for this coaching staff or this year. That is shortsighted thinking. There were two reasonable options for a team without a QB. Instead the answer was to waste that capital on a luxury pick and roll with TBW. QB's are hard to find. They are even harder to find when you don't try and find them.
Let me try and clarify a little further because these decisions do not happen in a vacuum. Pat Surtain is a good player. Hopefully he will have a long and productive career as a Denver Bronco. This is not about Pat Surtain. The pick is entirely defensible IF you are still committed to Drew Lock as your starting QB. Now I didn't expect Lock to work, BUT if you are not going to take a QB because you want to run it back with him to see how much better he can be, then fine, that is a reasonable argument and approach.
However, the coaching staff had no intention of starting Drew Lock. This had to be known on draft day as they had already acquired their QB for the season. That move was made with the intent to replace Drew Lock, not improve the QB room.
That is the problem with the approach. Wasting the opportunity to address the most important position on the team because they had TBW and were fine with it. That is such a Vikings approach they might as well change their colors to purple. Skol.
Daniel Jones threw 24 TDs in just 12 games as a rookie under Shurmur. I can just as easily speculate that a rookie QB would’ve been fine here.
But, you guys keep high-fiving each other over the “beastly” job Paton did, bringing in Teddy B to solve all the QB woes…
