Default Broncos mourn the loss of former player and local luminary Odell Barry

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Colorado lost a significant figure in its history on Monday, as Odell Barry, who was a Denver Bronco from 1964-65, the state's first Black mayor elected by a major city and a prominent local leader, passed away at 80 years old.

The former return specialist came to Colorado in the 1960s to join the Broncos, but he would stay for decades.

In the many years to come, Barry would make an even bigger impact in Northglenn, as he became a successful entrepreneur, a community leader and mayor of the city. In recent decades, he continued to have an impact on the Broncos as the chairman of a committee that played an instrumental role in the creation of Empower Field at Mile High and as a member of the Denver Broncos Alumni Association's Alumni Council.

Default Broncos mourn the loss of former defensive coordinator Greg Robinson

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Former Broncos defensive coordinator Greg Robinson, who served in that position for the team's back-to-back Super Bowl victories, has passed away, his family announced Wednesday.

    He was 70.

Robinson was a coach at the NFL or collegiate ranks for more than three decades, including a six-year stint in Denver from 1995-2000.

Born in Los Angeles, Robinson played college football at Bakersfield College and University of Pacific before beginning his coaching career at the latter school. After 15 seasons as a college coach at Pacific, Cal State Fullerton, NC State and UCLA, Robinson made the leap to the pros in 1993 as a defensive line coach for the Jets.
