"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

Default Broncos' ownership bids due by 3 p.m. Monday

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Bids to become the next owner of the Denver Broncos are due by the close of business Monday, or 3 p.m. Mountain Time.

A source familiar with the Broncos’ auction sale said that unless there’s a final-hour surprise, four groups are expected to place their bids Monday.

The four groups are led by:

Rob Walton and his son-in-law Greg Penner
    Josh Harris
    Jose E. Feliciano
    Matt Ishbia

No bids have come in yet, according to a source. This is an auction, and the four groups are each expected to wait and submit their best offers closer to the 3 p.m. deadline.

After the bids are in, the two men responsible for overseeing the Broncos’ sale – Steve Greenberg of Allen & Company and Joe Lecesse of Proskauer Rose LLP – will analyze the offers and discuss them with the three trustees of the Pat Bowlen estate: Joe Ellis, Rich Slivka and Mary Kelly. Ellis is the Broncos’ CEO and president; Slivka is the Broncos’ general counsel; Kelly is a longtime family attorney of the Bowlen family.

According to multiple sources, all four bidders have spoken to former Broncos' star quarterback Peyton Manning to gauge his interest in joining their ownership groups as a minority partner or advisor. No word on Manning's next move if he makes a move. #9sports

Hmmm, and he just sold his Aspen property for 30 million a couple days ago, which had the start of a new mansion on it (early stages).

    77 years old.

Looks like short term purchase to me, and another set of kids to fight for it?

Big win...(assuming he wins the bid, I havent heard yet)

His Son Ben has spent years of his life living in the Roaring Fork Valley and he really loves Colorado. My wife has done some business dealings with him and he flat out told her that Colorado is his favorite place on Earth. He lives in Chile right now because that's where his wife is from and they are doing a bunch of non profit stuff down there.

I could see Ben becoming the eventual managing owner when his dad passes or retires.

If this ends up happening it will be a great thing for the Denver Broncos. This makes me happy.
    Let's Rid3!!!!

    If this is true -
Walton will buy the team with his daughter Carrie and her husband Greg Penner, according to Forbes. Greg Penner is Chairman of the Board at Walmart.
