I hate to age discriminate, but 78 yrs old? I would hope for an owner a little younger.

I think it's important to note that he didn't "grow up with money" either, which seems to be a complaint on other sites. The first Walmart was opened when he was 18, and spent most of his life working @ Walmart and helped make it what it is today (like that or not...).
On the list for potential buyers that the NY Post had, I would prefer Walton, as I have no clue who any of those others are.

THIS ONES FOR JOHNWOULD YOU RATHER WIN UGLY, OR LOSE PRETTY?
It sounds like his son in law, Greg Penner, who is currently the chairman of Walmart, would be involved. He’s only 52. I assume he’d fully take over at some point.

Maybe. I had to write a research paper on the Walton family when I was in college. Part of the reason the Walton's are the richest family in the world is because they prioritized their wealth over their employees welfare. If history is the indicator, I'm worried he might run the Broncos in the way that would make him the most money--similar to how I've heard Montfort runs the Rockies.

They are the richest family, because they made Walmart the largest retailer in the world. They did that by focusing on affordable products serving, initially, rural and lower income communities. They provided jobs that many in those communities wouldn't have otherwise, and they provided affordable products vs. more expensive, and less variety, of main street America shops. From there, they expanded. They didn't become the largest retailer in the world, by a HUGE margin, due to starving their workers, but instead by filling a need that was previously ignored.
Maybe so, but Walmart employs 2.2 million people. That’s a lot of employees. That’s a lot of folks with jobs that aren’t standing in Welfare lines or having to work out in the hot sun picking crops or working in mines or on high-risk, high energy, dangerous work. They also don’t require higher education to work there so you don’t have to go $200 grand into debt to say “Welcome to Walmart”. People will always vilify the big chain, corporate companies for their greed and unscrupulous business practices and how they “treat their employees” (typically by people that have never actually worked for these companies) but it’s just more bullshit class warfare. Walmart has done way more good for the world than bad.
