He did not draft Lock, hire Fangio, etc. The preponderance of what we see now is entirely what Elway (and presumably Ellis and other management) has done. It's not as bad as everyone is making out right now. It's close to a great team to be honest, and Elway deserves credit. He deserves credit for bringing in Paton, who looks pretty good so far.

Elway deserves a ton of credit, but he also deserves fair attribution for what we see today. This team is much more Elway's than it is Paton's.

Elway's such a mixed bag. Great with PFM. AWFUL classes after PFM. Then towards the middle/end of his reign some of the best draft classes. Some abd lowball offers, some reall ybad cap choices. Some good choices.

It would have taken big balls for Paton to pull that trigger. He probably should have...QBotF, especially in a draft...so rare to even have that opportunity. Living and playing at altitude over and over is a different animal. You seem to think the 'professionals' sussed it as a non-factor. As far as I can tell, it's at least a risk factor.

It's still hard for me to blame a guy who almost lost his leg to such a grusome injury to be squeamish about making a tackle.

Having said that, football is a physical game and he should probably think long and hard about if he still has the fortitude to play it.

He better bring in Watson, Wilson or rodgers or get 1 of the top 4 Qb’s in the draft. He should keep lock and cut teddy tomorrow. Anything out of that plan he should be fired as well.

He extends Bedweter and hires Klint Kubiak/Adam Zimmer.

Beyond the non-tackle, Teddy was awful today. He had lanes where he could’ve easily run and refused, everything he threw was short. By far his worst game as a Bronco.
