Andy Dalton, hell Denver was ready to bring in Kaepernick after it was clear he was a one dimensional guy, Geno Smith who was an interception machine and trouble in the locker room, to Jacoby Brissett.
Just read this again and realized you listed more than Plummer.

Geno Smith only got 2 seasons, so that example doesn't fit either. Andy Dalton was was a borderline pro bowl player his first few years in the league, so that's a ridiculous comp as well. Kap took his team to the Super Bowl, so no. Brisett has had a 2:1 TD:INT ratio every year he's been a starter. So again, no.

Quincy Carter might be the best answer I've seen to my original query: Second round QB who was as bad as Drew Lock through 2 years and got a 3rd season as starter. So well done, someone finally found one. And guess what, he was completely out of the league by year 4. Proving my point that guys like this aren't worth wasting the time on.

Teddy did nothing but try not to get hit. He could’ve easily tackled the runner or at least slowed him down a little. He immediately turned away and ducked his head to ensure nobody on the defense would try to block him. He was the only guy in position to make the tackle and actually made an effort not to. That post is pure bullshit.

Exactly. **** bridgewater and if that’s the type of garbage you like then go for it. But leave us the hell alone about wanting better. Shoot for the moon and the stars, that’s not what you are into when you go with teddy.

You narrative that it's never happened has just been destroyed. Interesting you don't mention Plummer...

    I didn't remember Jake was a 2nd round pick.

I mentioned it in a separate post last page. He led his team to a winning record and a road playoff win in Dallas his second year. His stats were bad, but the winning is enough to buy him time.

But yes, Quincy Carter destroyed my narrative, so congrats I guess? Guess Drew Lock can be Quincy Carter and be out of the league in 4 years!

We’ll get to stew on wondering what kind of game plan Fangio & Shurmur can possibly come up with against the Chargers. Teddy’s teammates has to have lost confidence in him.

Yeah if Slay was running down the sideline, maybe you could accept this explanation -- but Slay was already running inside of Teddy and Teddy did nothing to redirect him or slow him down -- they are just doubling down on the lie.

it was obvious. . . honestly, outside of a belief that leadership should provide accountability, i'm fine with it. . . that clown fangio made his bed with his "safe choice" QB, now let him sleep in it. . . when he's fired at the end of the season, no one is going to feel any sympathy for him, and he won't be missed. . .

just get the next hire right, FFS!

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

all he needed to do was extend his f***ing arms and try to shove the guy! if he missed, no one would have even noticed-- he's a non-athletic QB, not one single damn person anywhere expects that he's going to tackle like a linebacker. . . he doesn't even have to throw his body in the way, or try to wrap the guy up-- if he gives even a half-assed effort to at least make some contact, this is a complete non-story. . . but you can't be a professional athlete making millions of dollars and absolutely quit on a play like that. . .

And force the returner back inside to WHAT exactly. That was run personnel on the field during that play, so at best (and I don't recall the lineup at the time) we had a receiver lined up wide, a running back, and our TE's along the O-Line in tight. The running back was on his ass and the receiver is out of position to make the play, which means the most athletic guys left are Teddy, Albert O, and Fant because all the fat guys are tangled up. If you have the chance and you are in spitting distance you HAVE to at least make an attempt.

That's the craziest thing. I don't even care that he quit on the play. If you watched the game tape for any given player and watch every single play, you'll probably see a few plays they mailed in. But damn, in such a key situation, just at least extend your arms and try to push him. Pretend to try.

Teddy said after watching the tape that he was “pissed” at his lack of effort. The thing is, it doesn’t sound like he was pissed but was just saying that to the media with hopes that the fans forgive him. Teddy seems like a nice guy, but I don’t see any fire or passion when he’s out there running the offense. With the lack of opening drive TDs, he said that they were aware and upset about it but they continue to play uninspired on the opening drives. TB continues to throw short of the 1st downs and unless the receivers are wide open, he refuses to throw it deep. It looked like the eagles gave TB the underneath stuff and just let him have the check downs. Our passing offebse in the RZ is non existent as we will refuse to run any passing plays near the goal line as Pat knows TB doesn’t feel confident in throw into tight coverage in the RZ.
