Default Sources: Odell Beckham Jr. finalizing deal with Los Angeles Rams

Odell Beckham Jr is finalizing a deal with the Los Angeles Rams, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The free-agent wide receiver will join a high-powered offense led by quarterback Matthew Stafford and add to a depth chart at the receiver position that already includes Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson.

Beckham became a free agent when he cleared waivers on Tuesday after being released by the Cleveland Browns.

I’m not sure OBJ really moves the needle enough to bother, but I guess it’s worth a shot?

He adds the deep threat that Jackson was, but with more versatility. He's basically going to fill the role that Sammy Watkins did in Kansas City.

Is it a huge addition? Nope. But it could be a very nice way to add to the offense.

Yeah, I just know that DeSean was unhappy with the amount of targets he got in that offense. Is OBJ going to be content being the 3rd option? Will be interesting so see if that offense, plus a better QB, make OBJ look better than he looked in Cleveland. I say yes, but I’m just not sure by how much.

I think OBJ just never fit with Cleveland. But he's definitely not what he used to be, that's for sure.

I think OBJ is going to light it up with a good QB in stafford and system. I think it moves the needle a bunch. Cleveland is where WR go to die. Kind of like the raiders. I am soooo happy someone dropped OBJ in one of my FF leagues. I snagged him and cannot wait to see how he does. Id have loved him here but we have too many WR already and no QB so he wouldnt have helped. (hed never have come anyway without a QB)
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

OBJ is pretty much done but it may be what he needs to step up his game to try and get a ring.

What is your basis for him being done? Just curious?

Me, I think he is Far from done.

Why on earth would we want OBJ anywhere around this team?

Injury prone, doesnt really run routes like he is supposed to. Mayfield isnt a bad passer but if OBJ isnt going to run routes like he is expected he wont succeed in LA. Maybe McVey convinces him to be better but im not expecting it personally.

Agreed. Me players are terrible especially for struggling franchises.

The improv on routes has always been a thing in his game. It worked in New York because Eli Manning had other players that did that--cruz comes to mind--and because he was a consummate pro.

I think Stafford being the QB that he is--quick release from a cannon arm that can throw from just about any angle--can mesh well with that.

I think it could go either way. New England leaked that they wanted him, Green Bay was reportedly interested, etc. I think enough great teams were willing to give him a shot...why? Because...as Jaded says....buy low!

Apparently both Rodgers and Adams contacted him to recruit him. I guess he chose a winter in LA over a winter in Wisconsin!
