Nevermind Joe won’t accept it.
He's been good each season he's played in with one large exception. And that exception happens to be the season he's on...the worst team/organization in the NFL.
I don't deny that he was overrated a little bit. But it is hard for me to think he was that overrated to the point whereby this dropoff is mostly on him.
I think Lindsay's success in Denver is more of a aberration rather than a statement about how good he was/is. I akin Lindsay to Olandis Gary or Michael Anderson where they had some good seasons but once they moved on they did almost nothing for other franchises. But then when you see a guy like Portis who had success on multiple franchises it sets itself apart in my opinion. Lindsay having a couple of successful seasons is much like Derek Anderson having one good year as a QB in Cleveland in my opinion. MGIII has been good for both the Chargers and now Denver.
That's interesting. I guess I give him the benefit of the doubt because he did well on some pretty poorly QB'd teams. With that being said, I can't tell you that you're wrong. My knock on him was his rookie year he broke a bone in his arm, and he got nicked up in his second year. Durability was an issue, no matter what anyone said. For all I 'know' he was a good back but is physically spent now. For all I know, he was a system player. Or somewhere in between.
It's a worthless debate, and I'll bow out by saying Lindsay isn't a run up the gut RB, but that's what Shurmer asked him to do.
You can't just dismiss his two year production.
