Default Henry Ruggs DUI crash leaves other driver dead

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is facing a DUI charge for a deadly crash in the southwest valley Tuesday morning, authorities said.
In an email, a police spokesperson confirmed the crash involved a Chevrolet Corvette driven by Ruggs and a Toyota Rav4. Investigators believe the Chevrolet crashed into the rear of the Toyota, which caught fire.

Firefighters responded and one person was found dead in the Toyota, police said.

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

if it went down the way it's being reported, should be more like the rest of his life off-- with a chunk of time in jail. . .

Indeed. The Raiders will be parting ways with him post-haste.

Would still need to see more details, but it definitely doesn't look good. If it's something like stallworth where he tried to sleep it off, was barely over the legal limit, and killed a guy who was acting negligently himself, I can see the logic in it not being a total career ender. But if he got hammered, then got right behind the wheel and drove recklessly and ran right into a car doing nothing wrong and killed people then yeah, he should be locked up and never play football again.

It definitely seems more like the latter for now, but I'll be interested to see more reporting on it.

You know your franchise is a ******* trainwreck when Carl Nassib coming out as the first ative gay athlete in the four major North American sports is the footnote in the 2021 season.

It is a category B felony in Nevada. What I Goggled tells me that the minimum is two years, maximum is twenty via the way it’s charged now.

Call me crazy but I think if you cause a person's death by an act like drunk driving I think you should forfeit the privelege of playing professional sportsball for millions of dollars. I think that should be the case for women and children abusers as well. We don't live in a perfect world.

Pretty much why i hated when Vick was allowed back into the NFL after hurting dogs. Thankfully he never got a ring and im sure he's an improved man now but they should of just kept him out the league and made him get an ordinary job like a average citizen.
