Should have never got let Shanny go.
Should have never got let Shanny go.
Seeing Shanahan leaving the Broncos organization was a sad day for me. We enjoyed the best years under him. Usually we would be unbeatable at home and a bad season for us was 7-9 or an 8-8 season, but I never remember being at any point getting as bad as we got with McDaniels or any other clown that roamed our sidelines ever since. It was also sad to see how many people wanted him out like yesterday, there were fans that couldn’t stand it any longer that now I want to ask them what they think now. Be careful what you wish for the old saying goes...
https://www.denverbroncos.com/news/b...alumni-weekendENGLEWOOD, Colo. — To celebrate the franchise's illustrious history and the people who have made it possible, the Broncos will give new custom orange jackets to the team's Ring of Fame members.
The team will begin this new tradition on Friday night at the Alumni Weekend banquet as Ring of Famers in attendance receive their jackets. Going forward, new inductees will be presented with their one-of-a-kind, custom-tailored orange-dyed jacket as they join the franchise's most exclusive club.
The sport coats, constructed with a soft shoulder and half-canvas chest piece, feature limited-edition orange fabric, a commemorative Broncos lining that includes the franchise's four logos dating back to 1960 and a personalized label for each Ring of Famer.
The honor is the newest addition to how the team salutes its Ring of Fame inductees, joining the bronze-and-steel pillars on Ring of Fame Plaza on the south side of Empower Field at Mile High, custom rings and the installation of members' names on the Level 5 façade inside the stadium.

The Broncos Ring of Fame photo.
Can you more experienced fans help me with identification? Having only jumped aboard the Broncos train in 04 there's a handful I don't recognise.
The guy on the far left being one, also the three in the back to left of Elway and the one on the end to his right plus the guy in the middle with his arm around Shanny.
I take it Champ, Shannon and Peyton are the ones missing from the photo.
Far left is Rick Upchurch WR, superb ST’s, and has many Broncos records as a punt returner. To left of Elway from R to L is Tom Jackson LB, Randy Gradishar LB, and I believe QB Craig Morton. Tommy Jackson also was Chris Berman’s long time partner in ESPN’s pre & post game shows on Sunday.
To right of Elway is Gary Zimmerman, the best LT the team has ever had and the anchor of the dominate OL of SB 32, and he is in the HOF.
Arm around Shanny is Billy Thompson, a superb DB from the 70’s. Tom Jackson, Gradishar, & Thompson were all part of the famed Orange Crush defense in the 70’s that carried the team to SB 12. Craig Morton was the QB, and Upchurch was WR, KR, & PR.
Randy Gradishar deserves/deserved to be in HOF for years now, but he didn’t play for an East Coast team, the Bears, or Cowboys, so he’s sits and waits.

Yes, that’s curious that they were not there. Champ not only played under him, but Shanny was instrumental in trading for him.
I would think Shannon would want to get away from Skip Baylis and his dopey show for a couple of days, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. And Peyton? Hell, he lives in Denver, so again, don’t know about him, but he is a busy guy, so who knows?
Apparently, Shanny is having a huge blowout party at his mansion in Cherry Hills tonight. All the usual suspects are invited. Would LOVE to be a fly on the wall, not just for the reminiscing, but the juicy gossip on what they really think about this current coaching staff. You know they will be talking about it.
