Patrick is a legit NFL physical talent across the board, he went undrafted due to injuries, iirc. If they replace him with the likes of Cleveland or Williams it’s a clear down-grade in potential, imo.
In other words, stay in your lane, bean counter!

“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

I think the team most likely to give Patrick the payday he deserves is the Broncos. I could easily see a scenario where Paton decided that both Sutton and Jeudy are both #1 WRs, and the cap can't carry 2 #1s, especially with all the money we have invested on Defense. So they say we will move forward with Jeudy as our #1 and sign a guy that can do most of what Sutton can do to a much more reasonable #2 WR contract. If Patrick keeps trending the way that he has, then it could be a bargain.

I see this a lot. Patrick at his best is no where near Sutton level of good. Not close. He cannot do 70% of Sutton. Sutton is so freaking good and so many broncos fans have no idea how good he is.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

The post above mine. He did not say same lane, but said most of what sutton can do. Its just not that close. Sutton is THAT good.

...and now he's our #2WR for sure.

I stand by what I said. Patrick is a solid #2, and based on his hard work and the way his career is trending, could develop into a #1. If Sutton is too expensive, then keeping Patrick as our #2 is a good option. Tough to pay 2 #1 WRs. He isn't as good as Sutton, but can do a lot of the same things Sutton does. Right now Patrick has 5 catches on 5 targets for 98 yards in this game. They are close to the same size, Sutton is more explosive, but Patrick has better hands.

Patrick made some good catches today. The guy is better than what people would want to give him credit for, because he’s not a flashy dude...
