Ok. I watched the game film from 3 angles.
And Surtain getting burned was not on him, though he did a valiant effort to get from the right side of the field across to try and cover because he realized KJack was out of position.
Also... For clarity, he never lined up as a middle LB. That's just nutter talk.
And the guy almost caught up and dove head first too. That's effort 100% and after looking at the film again, he deserves praise for his noticing and full effort to close the opening caused by the mistake of his team-mate.
KJack was never out of position for the rest of the night either. Mistakes happen even with the best players. But seeing a young guy recognize exactly what was happening and go full bore across the field to try and seal the opening in the D is very commendable. He understands the field like he had an NFL father explaining things since he was a child, because that exactly describes Surtain.
Kids a Rookie and he plays like a vet.
