They believe that strongly in Mac Jones. Which suggests that Paton may have really f***ed up.

I'm guessing it's due to several factors, including, but not limited to, (1) Cam didn't really outplay Mac during practices or preseason games and (2) Cam refused to get vaccinated and Pats didn't want to have to worry or deal with possibility he would test positive for Covid and the havoc that would cause.
Too bad she doesn't cheer for the Patriots dressed like this

Forgot about the second point. Good luck to him getting signed anywhere now.

The dare not be asked question now is whether or not Newton is better than Bridgewater?

It sure is messed up the pats got their franchise qb before the broncos. Like the chargers, Packers, and a few others they just aren't skipping a beat.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

He already had to miss 5 days because of exposure (or something COVID related) which allowed Jones to take all the #1 reps.

"On Saturday, Cam Newton traveled to a club-approved medical appointment that required him to leave the New England area," the statement read. "He received daily COVID tests, which were all negative. Due to a misunderstanding about tests conducted away from NFL facilities, and as required by the NFL-NFLPA protocols, Cam will be subject to the five-day entry cadence process before returning to the facility. Cam will continue participating virtually in team activities and return to the club facility on Thursday, August 26."

As NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported, only unvaccinated players are subject to the five-day re-entry process, per NFL-NFLPA protocol. According to the protocol, Newton is not allowed to enter the club facility until his Day 5 test results return negative. Until then, Newton is essentially relegated to a work-from-home period for most of the week, which precedes New England's third and final preseason game on Sunday.

Franchise corners are harder to find / more important!

To be honest, I don't trust this franchise (as it sits today) to develop either a Jones or Fields.

I'd be hard pressed to name another team that was a better fit for Jones.
