North, defenders are taught to touch a QB when he slides.
"We saw itÖ. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish ritersÖ. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

I donít agree with letting a QB fake the slide because defenders have to let up. We all know if a defender hits while he is sliding, itís a personal foul. QBs are already babied enough. Treat it like calling for a fair catch. Anyway, rant off.
    why you so serious!

Props to Pickett for being smart enough to do something like that. Maybe he should be our guy!

It should also be noted that when a Qb slides there is no need to touch him down since he is giving himself up. That only applies to a player who falls down on his own unintentionally.

Once you're on the ground in college, the play is over. Regardless of whether someone touches you or not.
