Good read. This part towards the end jumped out at me:

… They just need a distributor who will avoid catastrophe and get the ball in the right hands. Bridgewater proved capable of that last season in Carolina, when he helped both Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark and Curtis Samuel haul in a career-high 851 receiving yards. The Panthers were the only team in 2020 to have three wideouts reach 850 receiving yards.

and yea, i get it-- there's no guarantee at all that we'd do any better with lock. . . i still would have rolled the dice on the possibility of a talented third-year player improving, over a guy whose ceiling you already know. . . don't kid yourself about teddy-- nice guy, sure, but he's a broke man's alex smith, at the very best. . . in a league that's STARVED for quarterback talent, there's a reason this guy was available in the dollar bin in april. . . carolina essentially paid us to take him off their hands, so they could replace him with a guy who's basically the same player as drew lock, if lock had played at USC. . . not a thought that exactly gets me pumped for the season. . . i have little to no doubt that we're going to be right back to square one in the off-season, and that's disheartening when the rest of the roster absolutely looks ready to win right now. . . von's not gettng any younger, and keeping our young talent together is going to start getting very expensive over the next couple of years. . . windows of contention don't typically stay open for very long, and it certainly feels like we're wasting one by playing yet another no-upside journeyman QB. . .
I share your frustration about the lack of a long term plan. I think if Paton knew we weren’t committed to Drew as QBOTF then passing on Fields and Mac was objectively the wrong move.

That said, I don’t fault Fangio for not wanting to continue this charade on his watch. The QB many fans imagine Lock could be doesn’t match up with the reality of how he’s performed. So when you talk about this being a job saving move, that’s true, but it’s not some conspiracy - it’s just acknowledging reality that Lock hasn’t lived up to expectations and “hope” is not a justifiable reason for giving him a starter role that he’s never earned.

This is on Paton and Elway, Fangio is just being a realist.

I will say our QB room looks to be in good shape all around on that particular metric. Anyone that can come back from the injury Teddy has must be a hard worker and Lock has always been a grinder.

This part of your quote is complete BS. Nobody can say how he will end up playing. He won 4 of the 6 games he played his first year. That was after a BS IR scheme put up by Elway. Then he came back to a covid year with no practice, ota's , mini camps, online learning . Basically the worst case scenario for a 2 second year qb that sat out most of his first year. Sorry man but that statement is just wrong.

Where is it? It must be real small I cannot even see it
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
