And 4 of those were injury/covid replacements. But don't let that get in the way of a good narrative!
This team for the last three years has been building around Lock's skills, and just when we had achieved that... gotten a better OL, incredible depth at running backs, great secondary, strong DL with some awesome linebackers. the decide to hand the team to a mediocre quarterback that will most likely limit the higher celling of this team.
This is incredible, a monumental stupid error...
If you're too incompetent to develop quarterbacks and don't truly believe in what you're doing, then you've got no business coaching in the NFL
Vic Fangio has had 7 qbs in 33 games lmao
Doesn’t matter he’s just chosen to attempt to save his own ass instead of doing what’s best for the broncos and to maximize the lethality of our wide outs. On Hamler is suddenly a non factor, Jeudy going to be running nothing but short stuff across the middle getting blown up, Sutton? No deep stuff down the field going and getting the ball.
Fangio made a huge error and he will pay for it via getting fired when it’s all said and done. If you take him at his word and this thing was even Stephen from start to finish how don’t you go with the upside, the big play’s utilizing what these guys bring to the table.
Watch how teams play us right out the gates. Everything close to the LOS forcing teddy to throw vertical down the field outside the numbers….. will teddy be game? We’ll see but I doubt it. He only threw passes of 20 or more AIR yards a handful of times last year. But maybe things will be different because Fangio jobs on the line
I hated the Lynch pick.
I almost had a fit when the Broncos called in Dirty Sanchez. I suffered through Seimian, and Keenum. I almost vomited when we signed Flacco. I was like "Who the F is that?" when we drafted Lock.
Bridgewater is slightly above meh.
But I'm used to meh. So woohoo!
In this instance, Lock never earned the starting job and certainly lost it based on last year's performance if those 2019 wins "earned it" for him. This team should be able to win games with short passing, a run game, and great defense.
If Teddy becomes a liability and defenses adjust to his limitations, we are very likely to have another Flacco situation on our hands and I would expect Lock to be back in at some point. This isn't the worst thing because it's highly likely Lock will start again by the end of the year.
Good article:
Teddy Bridgewater Is a Safe Choice for the Broncos, but Also Probably the Right One
https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2021/8...ock-vic-fangioVic Fangio could have chosen upside and big-play ability by naming Drew Lock his Week 1 starter, but picking Bridgewater speaks volumes about the coach’s goals for this season
