Okay, Teddy gets to start . At least Fangio finally stopped the merry go round and named a starter. I hope it is the right choice but I'll back whoever is playing.
Those September games loom large now. If we don't win at least 3 it will be a so so season again and Fangio won't be the HC next year. Our Defense should be
able to get us to 9 wins with TBW. But bad things can happen at any time.
As far as trading Lock right now , that would be a rediculous mistake.
First, they just lowered his value by not naming him the starter so we won't even be offerred a second or maybe third for him. Keep him and get that 3rd when
he walks away in a year or two, if that happens. Or maybe he will end the year as the starter if Teddy does not pan out.
Second Rypien is not able to be the backup for Shurmurs schemes, and Lock is the better backup QB over him ( and probably will be needed in several ( or more) games this year).
Rypien is smart and makes good decisions but just doesn't have a full NFl arm. He can back up a dump off game and make the short throws. Apparently Fangio wants to win games
though, and Rypien won't consistently move the team. Just STOP with the Trade Lock talk. He will be a Bronco this year.
If we are looking for a new QB and HC next year we are going to be in a full rebuild. Our last year contract players aren't going to stick around hoping we can raise draft capitol for
Rodgers or another trade. Time to move up and pick a FR QB in the draft probably that the new HC likes. And if we have a new coach Teddy won't be getting a large deal here either,
since Carolina isn't going to pay most of his contract.
10-6, 2-14. 8-8 and Now 11-6
I'm In it for the LONG Haul!
