Pass Interference calls are ruining the sport.

Honestly i dont think its even the rule itself but the officials these days are just blindly calling them and hoping they get lucky. But since you cant challenge them anymore its just more trash calling.

They need to do several things.

    1. Add a ref in the booth with instant override authority. He can watch the feeds from the booth and make quick calls on easy nonsense like that last call.

    2. Change PI punishments. There should be two types of PI, intentional and unintentional. Intentional would be the obvious guy is beat tackles WR to save a TD type of PI and it should be a spot foul the way PI is called now. Unintentional (UPI) should be a 10 yard penalty with automatic 1st down or maybe it could be tiered something like a UPI 30 yards and in is a 10 yard penalty past 30 yards and it's a 15 or 20 yard penalty. I'm just so sick of how punitive that stupid penalty is especially since it is probably the penalty most screwed up by the refs.

    3. Actually start calling OPI. WRs get away with murder and it's so ******* frustrating.

The AAF did the first one and it worked great. Ridiculous the NFL won't do the same. I'm guessing the ref union would probably raise too big a stink about it. We saw what a hissy fit they threw the year PI was reviewable, image the revolt if there was a guy in the booth who could overturn their calls on the spot. Probably why that won't happen any time soon.

You're right, but at the same time, the guy in the booth would be one of them.

For some reason I love it when a fullback gets a receiving touchdown.
