Oh we need a safety just not before QB, edge or OT.

I am kind of tired of the weak class rhetoric....so many so called strong classes had shit QB's and vice versa. You draft until you find your guy period. I wouldn't call this class stellar but there are some guys who could absolutely be franchise guys if developed.

Get rookie QB, Make sure you have addressed your OL, make sure you have legit weapons and make sure you are fine with adjusting your so called system the first couple years while they learn. Keep said system for continuity. When this is done it usually works out if the kid has talent and some work ethic, when it is not like in Denver's case it pitters out miserably.

Hey man, there's some validity there. We've also seen strong classes yield low fruit. I just figure that this rhetoric as you rightfully call is it embraced almost categorically, and that I don't know enough about the QB class/drafts in general to buck against the grain. Why do you hate my humility? Why do you attack me? RAWR

They had 4 split field safeties that the previous coaching staff liked.

It's a fair point, but Paton knew this might be fangio's last year. I don't think George would have extended Simmons if he didn't like him also.
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Simmons has enough flexibility to play in either Fangio 2 safety look or cover 3 that Quinn likes. I am fair more concerned with front 7, especially the off ball linebackers and edge players.

I for one think it's a great idea to completely overhaul one of the league's top scoring defenses. It's not like we need resources to fix the offense or anything!

I think the odds of us landing someone like Kirk Cousins or Jimmy G are pretty high at this stage... There are only so many names out three once you get past Rodgers and Wilson.

If this is the case then ******* go get Watson.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I still think you are getting your hopes up to much in regards to getting those big 3.

Because IMO its absolutely foolish to not. I do not think George is a fool. But people will start talking themselves into this crap and its what we have had the last few years and this draft doesnt have a QB that is worth moving up for let alone taking in the first round imo. So we need to solve our biggest need and we need to go take care of it. Not try a bandaid with cousins
