We will probably have to trade into top 10 even then.
Detroit, Houston and the Giants are all in play for QB in the top 10. The giants aren't retaining Caldwell at GM after the season apparently and if so that means a new GM and new regimes want new QB's 90% of the time. If the coaching staff stays he may be talked into staying with jones and then drafting a QB in rd 2. I don't have much faith there though that a new GM wont want his guy. I think we need to get to the giants 1st pick personally to have a shot at Pickett even though he shouldn't be going that high. If he does make it past them we need to get ahead of Carolina and Atlanta. There is a reason team execs and scouts expect 5 Qb's to go in rd 1 this draft even if they shouldn't.
I don't see Darnold or Cam being the guy next year in Carolina and Atlanta already knows they need a replacement for Ryan. If for some reason we cant move up the top 3 QB's wont be a option for Denver. At that point we draft a great DE, LB, CB, OL and then trade back into rd 1 for Strong or Ridder and hope to god we landed Wilson, Rodgers, or Watson in FA.
This is becoming the plan, except I think the FA Wilson, Watson Rodgers is plan A
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
