Best case scenario, Rodgers retires after 2 years and Drew chooses to sign a 1-year prove it deal...which is about all he'd get anywhere. If he happens to do that here...and has a good season...then he creates market demand for himself and can potentially go anywhere he wants. But my guess is that Rodgers probably has at least 3 solid seasons left in him, which goes beyond Lock's rookie deal. Why on Earth would he or any "young" QB sign an extension to be a back up if there are opportunities to fight for a starting role?

If so, that is great news for us to land him.
What I heard is that they offered to him more than MaHomes this year but it wasn't a true extension going forward. So it's almost like they took something bad and made it worse.

    Even better!

he wants long term and we can give him that. This needs to happen.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I won't let myself believe it until the ink is dry but I think it's a done deal. To him it's Denver or bust. Wifey factor is immense here

I know it's still wishful thinking, but why is it that almost every source I see/read, mentions The Broncos? They are tuned in better than most of us, so why does our team keep coming up? Probably because of solid tangibles and intangibles. Possibly because there are often leaks, or conversations had, that can be revealing. Hey, it's time to listen up whenever Shailene speaks. She might be excited for him to play here, with property and all.

I wish he had a NTC. Then we could be very well assured he would come to us. I am still worried that they might ship him somewhere else (if they do at all). Three more weeks guys!

Without a NTC, the wifey factor is completely irrelevant. The biggest thing we have going for us is our cap space. Only other team that could afford him is Jacksonville and that really isn't happening. Unless they trade him to a team that unloads a big QB contract in return, but it makes no sense for GB to take on more QB salary on top of the dead AR money they'll have. Especially if they want to move forward with Love.

I still don't think it will happen and fully expect to see Bridgewater starting week one...but I'll be happy if it does. Depending on what we give for him

They keep saying we have a cap space advantage, a solid group of weapons, no big QB contract to unload, and possibly other good news, like having revered legendary QBs like Elway and even Manning to have a nice HoF chat with. The wifey thing is a good thing, in case if it ever gets to that place in the discussions. And I do think The Brady effect is what will make players like Rodgers have few doubts, if they have any say in what happens.

That's not his point. He doesn't have a no trade clause, so he has no control over where he goes.

Is there any middle ground? Because the wifey factor influences what he wants. What he wants can be protected via the classic "I'll only play for these teams/if you trade me somewhere I don't want to go I'll just retire," and sort of nukes that.

I think it truly comes down to the notion of how far he will take it.

I get that. Just putting together all the factors I see as a positive influence, and it might help if he has preferences...if GB cares at all. The more ducks you line up the better.

    Done deal....

Quarterback Blake Bortles is in Green Bay to sign with the Packers, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday.

If Lock is smart he’d spend the next 2-3 years soaking in the greatness of Rodgers, as long as it takes, just stick with it ... then step in to compete as the heir apparent. He’d be 26-27 when Rodgers hangs it up after 3-peating and he’d be fully developed and in total command of the system.

Depends on how he looks in what little reps he’d get, sure, it’s all theoretical but I believe my math is sound.

I mean, it’s not as romantic as toiling in QB purgatory for 5+ years after Rodgers retires but it beats the Garbage Minshew type fairytales.
"Tuning ... into each other ... lift all higher”
    “I’m just different!”

    Sign Garbage Minshew.

    Draft
    1st round— Cooper Dejean CB
    2nd round— Jack Sawyer OLB
    3rd round— Will Shipley RB
    4th round— Ricky Pearsall WR
    5th round— Ladd McKonkey WR
    6th round— Cash Jones RB
    7th round— Carson Steele RB

Man, the bettors must really think we're getting Rodgers.
