It's weird how it's never the first round QB's fault for failing to you. It's always the coaches or GM or WRs or anything other than that fact that a player can both be talented and not a good NFL player.

I didn’t blame anyone for his failing WFT, he’s a world class idiot.

I said they ****** up waiving him ‘to send a message’ ... the ‘new sheriff in town’ bullshit rarely works.

One could say the Broncos aren't very good at developing quarterbacks either.

    they wouldn't be wrong. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Since Shanahan left, how many QBs have come through Denver (without coming from another organization like Manning or Flacco) and were successfully developed? Tebow? Lynch? Osweiler? Simien? Kelly?

    I'll wait.

I don't disagree that we haven't developed QBs well, but Oz is really the only QB on that list who was both a legit potential talent and cared about football, and he left before he had a chance to develop as the starter. Tebow wasn't a real QB on any team, Siemian/Kelly were 7th round fliers who no one should expect to develop into anything, and Lynch didn't GAF about football. So I don't know how fair it is to use those 5 guys as an example of "Denver can't develop QBs!". Lock will be the most fair example in this critique if he flops this year, but he could also flip that script if he flourishes.

I think an argument coukd be made for siemian. The guy sucks, but he was a lowly 7th rdr and woukd have got undrafted but kubes liked him. They developed him into a shit starter and a decent backup. Hes still a backup in the NFL to this day isn't he?
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

That's true, if anything he's a positive example of QB development. Becoming a career backup/spot starter is basically the best case scenario for a 7th round/UDFA QB.

I realize we didn't draft Elway, but he was never a Colt and spent all his football years in Denver.

I'd say a guy we acquired 38 years ago maybe isn't the most useful data point for how well the organization currently develops QBs.

Yeah - he did say "since Shanahan left".
